Homemade Goodness: Easy DIY Peanut Butter Recipe

Been craving homemade peanut butter but didn't know the steps?

then here’s a simple DIY peanut butter recipe with steps:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of roasted peanuts (unsalted)

  • 1-2 tablespoons of honey or sugar (optional, for sweetness)

  • 1-2 tablespoons of oil (peanut oil, vegetable oil, or coconut oil)

  • Pinch of salt (optional, to taste)

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Make sure your roasted peanuts are cooled if they were heated. You can buy roasted peanuts or roast them yourself at home in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

  2. Blend the Peanuts:

    • Place the roasted peanuts in a food processor or a high-powered blender.

    • Blend for about 1-2 minutes. The peanuts will break down into crumbs at first.

  3. Add Oil and Continue Blending:

    • As the peanuts turn into a thicker paste, drizzle in the oil gradually to smoothen the texture. Continue blending for another 2-4 minutes.

    • Scrape down the sides of the processor as needed.

  4. Sweeten & Season (Optional):

    • Add honey or sugar if you prefer a sweet peanut butter, and a pinch of salt if desired.

    • Blend for another minute to mix everything evenly.

  5. Check Consistency:

    • Blend until the peanut butter reaches your preferred consistency (smooth or chunky). If it's too thick, you can add more oil in small amounts.

  6. Store:

    • Transfer the peanut butter to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. It will last for about 2-3 weeks.

Enjoy your homemade peanut butter on toast, in smoothies, or as a snack!
