then here’s a simple DIY peanut butter recipe with steps:
Ingredients:
2 cups of roasted peanuts (unsalted)
1-2 tablespoons of honey or sugar (optional, for sweetness)
1-2 tablespoons of oil (peanut oil, vegetable oil, or coconut oil)
Pinch of salt (optional, to taste)
Steps:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Make sure your roasted peanuts are cooled if they were heated. You can buy roasted peanuts or roast them yourself at home in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Blend the Peanuts:
Place the roasted peanuts in a food processor or a high-powered blender.
Blend for about 1-2 minutes. The peanuts will break down into crumbs at first.
Add Oil and Continue Blending:
As the peanuts turn into a thicker paste, drizzle in the oil gradually to smoothen the texture. Continue blending for another 2-4 minutes.
Scrape down the sides of the processor as needed.
Sweeten & Season (Optional):
Add honey or sugar if you prefer a sweet peanut butter, and a pinch of salt if desired.
Blend for another minute to mix everything evenly.
Check Consistency:
Blend until the peanut butter reaches your preferred consistency (smooth or chunky). If it's too thick, you can add more oil in small amounts.
Store:
Transfer the peanut butter to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. It will last for about 2-3 weeks.
